Kim Petras headlines NYC Pride's Pride Island

Lil' Kim headlines Saturday Pride Island lineup, joining Shenseea, Netta, Raye, and Papi Juice.

This year’s Pride Island music festival will take place on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 at Play Lawn on Governors Island. The Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street in Lower Manhattan will serve as the primary entry point for all event goers. The Battery Maritime Building can be accessed by subway (1 to South Ferry, 4/5 to Bowling Green, R to Whitehall Street) or by bus (M9, M15, M20, M55). Ferries will be operated by The Trust for Governors Island. Pride Island attendees may show their tickets to board ferries departing from the Battery Maritime Building; no additional reservations are required.

  • Ferries will depart from Battery Maritime Building every 15 minutes from 10:00am to 9:00pm and arrive 15 minutes later at Governors Island Soissons Pier
  • Return ferries departing every 15 minutes from Governors Island Soissons Pier will arrive at Battery Maritime Building 15 minutes after departure.
  • The last ferries will depart Governors Island at 11:15pm each night

In addition to the dedicated ferry schedule listed above, event goers can access Governors Island via regularly scheduled ferry service which will be fully operational throughout the weekend. Pride Island attendees are strongly encouraged to take ferries to the event departing from the Battery Maritime Building as outlined above. Additional ferry service to Governors Island is available via the Trust for Governors Island’s weekend service departing from Brooklyn and via NYC Ferry for $2.75 prior to 7PM. Please note, after 7PM there is no service via NYC Ferry or to Brooklyn. All return ferries for Pride Island guests will return to the Battery Maritime Building.

NYC Pride is committed to bringing the community together in person with basic safety precautions in place to ensure we can celebrate Pride with the lowest possible risk.

  • Mask wearing is optional but encouraged when interacting with others
  • Hand washing stations and sanitizer throughout
  • Guests will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test result

Lil' Kim

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Lil' Kim is a world-renowned multi-platinum selling rapper and reality television personality with a career spanning nearly three decades. The "Queen of Rap" is also a fashion icon and serves as a role model encouraging women everyone to embrace their sexuality and femininity.

Shenseea

In the span of five years, Shenseea has ascended through Jamaica's dancehall ranks to become one of the genres most sought-after artists. Known for her alluring style and bold delivery of patios rhymes, (called deejaying in Jamaican parlance) Shenseea has already worked with some of dancehall’s top acts. Since becoming Interscope's first dancehall signing she has collaborated with a wide range of artists from various genre's such as Kanye West, Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, Christina Aguilera, Shaggy, Santigold, Major Lazer, Young Thug, Swae Lee and Masego. She has come out onto the scene with a bang in 2021 with two smash singles “Run Run" and "Be Good." She was featured on “Pure Souls” and “Ok Ok Pt. 2” from Kanye West's highly anticipated “DONDA” album, as well as on “How I'm Feelin” from the Madden 22 Soundtrack. She is following up these releases with a full length album at the end of the year and 2022 tour.

Netta

Netta has become a trailblazing innovator in the world of quirky-pop, turning the genre into a colorful funhouse of fizzy experimentation. Her song “Toy” won her the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 and has over 150 million views on YouTube alone. It also became a runaway TikTok smash last summer. Over the past year, Netta (Netta Barzilai) has been called a “powerhouse singer with a skillful spunk that drops your jaw open and keeps your heart entertained” by LADYGUNN, “quirky, funny, and entertaining as heck” by BUST, “the role model even she didn’t know we needed” by Hey Alma, and more. Now Netta is ready to take her next step with the bombastic new single “Nails” – her first release of 2022. “Nails” follows the release of “CEO” and the b-side “DUM” in late 2021 which opened a new musical chapter for Netta and will be part of her debut album coming in late 2022.

Raye

Four times BRIT nominated, RAYE is one of the most streamed artists in the world with over 2.3 billion Spotify streams of her music. She has a double-platinum, four platinum, two gold and three silver singles to her name. She is also indisputably one of the UK's premier songwriters. Her songs have amassed over 3 billion Spotify streams, having written for some of the world’s biggest artists including: John Legend, Ellie Goulding, Khalid, David Guetta, Diplo, and Beyonce. In 2019 she was awarded The BMI Impact Award in recognition of her 'ground-breaking artistry, creative vision and impact on the future of music.

Papi Juice

Papi Juice is an art collective that aims to affirm and celebrate the lives the of queer and trans people of color. Structured around curated events, Papi Juice lives at the intersection of art, music, and nightlife. Since its inception in 2013, the collective has been changing the face of nightlife in New York City and beyond with intentional platforms for artists of color including panels, artist residencies, performances, and, of course, fabled DJ sets and all night parties. Papi Juice has featured artists and DJs such as: Kelsey Lu, Princess Nokia, Kindness, Juliana Huxtable, Asmara, Helado Negro, and Raveena. Papi Juice is committed to being an intentional space for queer and trans people of color. Papi Juice has also partnered with institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum, MoMA PS1, Planned Parenthood, Creative Time, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, El Museo del Barrio, and partners like Twitter, Calvin Klein, and HBO.

Kim Petras

On Sunday, pop sensation Kim Petras takes center stage on the closing night of Pride Island. Since first emerging on the scene, international pop sensation Kim Petras has self-styled a massively dynamic career with a string of critically acclaimed singles and projects, more than 850 million global streams, and sold-out headline tours of North America and Europe. After years of triumphing as an entirely independent artist, Kim signed to Republic Records / Amigo Records and has now set out on a brand-new era with the release of "Future Starts Now" and "Coconuts," both from her forthcoming, highly anticipated debut album. Most recently, Kim released the sex-positive Slut Pop EP as a Valentine’s Day surprise for her fans. Now, Kim is preparing for the release of her 2022 debut album on Republic Records.

DJ's Eddie Martinez, Joe Pacheco, and Alex Chapman will also be featured on Sunday June 26.
